She is known as the goddess of love, compassion, mercy and forgiveness.
Description:
Goddess of Mercy. Kwan Yin is a universal deity of the Buddhist tradition, also known as Quan Yin, Kwanseum Bosal (Korea), Quan'Am (Vietnam), Kannon or Shokanzeon Bosatsu (Japan), Kanin (Bali) and Tara (Tibet). She embodies compassion and plays the role of a Bodhisattva. A Bodhisattva has thoroughly passed the 10 Buddhist levels to achieve enlightenment, but vows to remain in the earthly realm to help other pilgrims in their quest for enlightenment. She hears the cries of all beings and answers prayers for help. In Chinese traditions, the Kwan Yin literally "lends a hand" to those in dire need.

You can place the Kuan Yin statue near the front door, facing the entrance . This will create a protective quality of energy at your entrance (the mouth of Chi), as well as the most welcoming view when you return home. Never place your statue on the floor, in the kitchen or in the bathroom.

The exoteric tradition is the most deeply rooted and the representation of the serene figure of the goddess is the most common in temples and family altars in Taiwan. Kuan-yin is presented as a normal goddess with a crown with a Buddha as a diadem. Their arms hold auspicious objects, such as a lotus flower, a willow branch, or a rosary.
